SP-4 analysis droid

The SP-4 analysis droid was a specific type of analysis droid distinguished by enhanced optical receptors and ridges on its cranium that acted as sensory input devices. These droids also possessed fully functional, mouth-stalk-like vocabulators, sometimes with articulated metal 'lips.' These droids, alongside JN-66 units, were responsible for manning the Analysis Rooms located within the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

Standing at 1.4 meters in height, SP-4 analysis droids bore a striking resemblance to the PK-series worker droid; however, the SP-4's head contained much more advanced technology. This outward similarity was misleading, as it masked their true intelligence and potential. SP-4 units possessed hands with three digits. They collaborated directly with organic beings and frequently worked in tandem with JN-66 units, serving as a bridge to the rest of the team. They were also deployed across the Temple to operate various security posts. At these posts, they monitored camera feeds, audio recordings, and data streams, searching for any intruders, whether physical or digital. The SP-4 units would then relay this information to their designated team leader for further investigation or to a Jedi.

SP-4 droids gained a reputation for being persistent, lacking imagination, and operating at a slow pace. They were often criticized for their inability to make intuitive connections. This assessment may have been unjust, as SP-4 units were also skilled and effective, despite being perceived as "just" droids. During the Clone Wars, SP-4 droids provided support to human medical personnel in hospitals, utilizing their capabilities to quickly evaluate the condition and needs of injured individuals. Across the galaxy, in various hospitals, SP-4 units, along with other analysis droid models, were involved in analyzing medical data, with a particular focus on infection control.
