The spaceport tower was a structure located near the Coruscant Jedi Temple. It provided docking capabilities for starships that were too large to fit within the Temple's own hangars, thus serving the entire Jedi Temple complex.
This tower made its initial appearance in an establishing shot from the 2002 prequel trilogy movie, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. However, it was absent from a similar shot in the later film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, which came out in 2005. Its designation as a spaceport tower was confirmed in the 2016 reference publication, Star Wars: Complete Locations.
