Disc droids, alternatively referred to as spider-droids or disk droids, represented a specific droid type utilized by the Scourge. Their primary function was to serve as a means of corrupting other droids, absorbing them into the Scourge collective.
In the period spanning from 3 ABY to 4 ABY, the Spark Eternal artificial intelligence underwent a fusion with a disc-like spider-droid. This particular droid had been secured within the Fermata Cage by the Sith, located on the Amaxine Space Station. This fusion resulted in the emergence of the Scourge, which then infiltrated an Imperial Star Destroyer. During this infiltration, a spider-droid engaged in combat with Petyr, a mouse droid. Following this event, numerous spider-droids were manufactured and integrated into the bodies of mouse droids. These modified droids were then disseminated throughout the galaxy to propagate the Scourge.
