Publisher's summary

_As the official comic adaptation of the Star Wars film everyone was waiting for, this book delivers! The Clone Wars' dramatic conclusion is depicted, setting the stage for A New Hope. Expect space battles, ground warfare on alien planets, heroic sacrifices, and friendships turned to rivalries, all leading up to what is considered the biggest, longest, and most incredible lightsaber battle in Star Wars history!

The story within answers crucial questions: How did Anakin fall to the dark side? What became of Luke and Leia's mother? And why were there no Jedi in the original trilogy?

Doug Wheatley's artwork (Star Wars: Empire_ volume two) brings a level of realism and detail that rivals the movies themselves. It's an epic graphic novel that fans shouldn't miss!_

Differences from the film

  • In the comic, Count Dooku loses only one hand to Anakin's lightsaber, while in the film, he loses both.
  • Upon returning to Utapau, Grievous instructs Nute Gunray to move to Mustafar, but in the film, this happens before his duel with Obi-Wan.
  • The duel between Obi-Wan and General Grievous is shorter in the comic. Instead, Obi-Wan rides Boga to Grievous' ship platform where their fight occurs.
  • The Battle of Kashyyyk is absent; only Yoda's escape is shown.
  • On Polis Massa, the comic depicts Yoda communicating telepathically with Qui-Gon Jinn through the Force.
  • Yoda's arrival on Dagobah is shown, a scene that was removed from the movie.
