Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, an engaging bar exclusively for adults, is located on the Disney Wish cruise ship, part of the Disney Cruise Line. It began operations on July 14, 2022.
A Walt Disney Imagineering team, headed by senior creative director Danny Handke, was responsible for the lounge's creation. Handke envisioned the bar as a destination for adult Star Wars enthusiasts, a departure from the child-focused Star Wars areas present on other Disney cruise ships. The bar's design drew inspiration from the elegant aesthetics of Dryden Vos's First Light yacht and the Canto Bight casino.
The design involved simulating a vessel traveling through hyperspace to a variety of destinations. This was achieved using a video screen "viewport," designed to resemble a wide, seven-section window, to produce the desired effect. To incorporate references from across the Star Wars universe, different locations from the timeline are featured during the experience.
The Disney Wish also offers Star Wars: Cargo Bay, an interactive experience designed for children.
