Publisher's summary

The Clone Wars are in full swing throughout the galaxy. Count Dooku, formerly a Jedi but now a secret Sith Lord, leads the Separatists in their relentless advance, causing more and more planets to either fall under their control or break away and join their cause. The Republic, under the leadership of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, fights valiantly, supported by its vast army of clone troopers and their Jedi commanders.

Anakin Skywalker, whom some believe is the "Chosen One" prophesied to bring balance to the Force, is now a Jedi Knight under the guidance of his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Death is a constant threat, and his odds of survival are further complicated by the unexpected arrival of Ahsoka, a young and inexperienced fourteen-year-old Padawan. However, Anakin has no time to question his new assignment. He and Obi-Wan have been given a new mission where failure is unacceptable.

Jabba the Hutt's young son has been abducted, and when the desperate parent seeks help from the Jedi, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and their clone forces are tasked with finding the evidence and rescuing the missing Huttlet. The stakes are high: a grateful Jabba could grant the Republic access to the Hutt-controlled hyperspace lanes, which the Grand Army urgently needs to defeat the Separatists.

However, the Republic is not the only faction seeking access to those hyperspace lanes. Count Dooku, determined to secure them for the Separatists, has set a trap for the Jedi. When they locate the Huttlet, they will also encounter Dooku's deadly assassin, Asajj Ventress, along with countless battle droids ready to ambush them.

The exciting new animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars is set before Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and lays the groundwork for the innovative TV series. Both feature original content—directly from the creative mind of the legendary Star Wars creator George Lucas. These thrilling new adventures and characters are brought to life in book form by the renowned #1 New York Times bestselling Star Wars author Karen Traviss.
