Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, a compilation of all four comic book issues from the Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith comic series, was made available on March 16, 2005.

What the Publisher Says

_This is the official comic book adaptation of the Star Wars film that everyone was eagerly awaiting! The Clone Wars' storyline reaches its climax, and the stage is set for the events of A New Hope. Expect intense space battles, massive ground conflicts on alien planets, heroic sacrifices, and friendships turning into bitter rivalries – all culminating in the most spectacular and extended lightsaber battle ever seen in Star Wars history!

The story addresses key questions like: What led Anakin to embrace the dark side? What became of Luke and Leia's mother? And why were Jedi absent during the original trilogy?

With artwork by Doug Wheatley (Star Wars: Empire_ volume two), this adaptation achieves a level of detail and realism comparable to the films themselves. This graphic novel is an absolute must-read!_

Differences Between the Comic and the Movie

  • In the comic, Count Dooku loses only one hand to Anakin's lightsaber, whereas in the film, he loses both.
  • Upon returning to Utapau, Grievous instructs Nute Gunray to move to Mustafar in the comic, while in the film, this happens prior to his duel with Obi-Wan.
  • The comic presents a shorter version of Obi-Wan's battle with General Grievous. Instead, Obi-Wan rides Boga to the platform where Grievous' ship is, and they engage in combat.
  • The Battle of Kashyyyk is omitted, showing only Yoda's escape.
  • On Polis Massa, the comic depicts Yoda communicating telepathically with Qui-Gon Jinn through the Force.
  • A scene that was removed from the film shows Yoda arriving on Dagobah.
