Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan

Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan was the third expansion released for Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The announcement occurred on August 19, 2005, followed by its launch on November 1, 2005.

Features

The planet Mustafar, a ground-based location, was a key addition to the game through this expansion. Its creation was timed to capitalize on the home video release of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and specifically the climactic duel between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi, which unfolded on that very world. Trials of Obi-Wan presented gamers with over 50 fresh quests, varying from rescue operations to expeditions into the wreckage of a downed Republic cruiser. Numerous quests also centered around the return of HK-47 from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic; players have the option to eliminate him for one particular quest. Furthermore, the expansion enabled players to engage with Obi-Wan Kenobi's spectral form, aiding him to "correct an imbalance in the Force" that existed on Mustafar. High-level quest completion could reward players with the ability to discover a fiery red crystal, unique to the volcanic planet, that could be used to construct a lava-like lightsaber. A new space sector was not part of this expansion.
