The designation Subnode referred to an organism fashioned to resemble its originator. A member of the Assemblers, the arachnid species known as Kud'ar Mub'at possessed numerous diminutive subnodes, each dedicated to specific tasks. These subnodes were often named after their function; for example, Signaler was responsible for alerting Mub'at to any arrivals at the arachnid's web.
