SuperFlow IV

The SuperFlow IV represented the standard factory-installed computer aboard the YT-1300 light freighter. This system was responsible for the operation of the ship's systems, including navigation, propulsion, and sensors. It was known for its high level of sophistication and exceptional adaptability.

Description

The SuperFlow IV, manufactured by Hanx-Wargel for the Corellian Engineering Corporation, was a computer model. It was pre-installed in YT-1300 light freighters as the primary computational device, though most operators eventually modified it to improve its performance. It incorporated a central droid brain directly connected to various sub-processors, including units for environmental monitoring, propulsion control, navigation, and communication, along with a diagnostic interface to simplify maintenance. It also featured an automated inspection system that scanned the Avatar-10 hyperdrive's horizontal booster power lines before activation to guarantee a smooth hyperspace jump, as well as a flight recorder and the captain's log. The computer's physical components were installed into a square receptacle on the wall of the ship's galley, adjacent to the staircase leading to the gunner stations.

Designed for both durability and versatility, the SuperFlow IV computer allowed users to easily expand its capabilities through add-ons. However, CEC advised YT-1300 owners against making significant alterations to the droid brain itself without official customer support authorized by CEC; however, this was too expensive for many users.
