Superlaser firing station

Superlaser firing station Superlaser firing station Laser stations, otherwise known as Superlaser firing stations, were a set of eight computer terminals present on the various Death Stars. Their purpose was to prepare, energize, and ultimately activate the superlaser weapon of these formidable battlestations. These stations were situated within the Superlaser Fire Control area, specifically in the Theta Sector of each station. The setup included four primary stations, accompanied by an additional four backup stations. The backups were designed to take over in case any of the primary stations were disabled, and they were kept in a state of constant, active readiness.

Each individual station featured a pair of mainframe controls, equipped with a variety of instruments, indicators, and activation buttons. The mainframe located on the left contained eight system status panels, each displayed as a 6x4 grid screen, showing flashing colors such as red, khaki, brown, and gray. Additionally, it incorporated energy transfer relays, represented by four circular gauges, three electronic numerical readouts that measured radiation levels, and 26 vertical dials used to fine-tune emitter crystal harmonics, along with other assorted dials and buttons. The console of this mainframe also included a series of buttons for synchronizing the laser stations, along with switches to improve the precision of the targeting sensors. Mirroring the leftmost mainframe, the rightmost mainframe also contained system status panels. Moreover, it featured two targeting screens positioned on its left side, several circular switches for aligning tributary beams, a larger circular dial to adjust focus-field polarity, various buttons and gauges to display the charge status, and a series of buttons that flashed in green, orange, red, white, and purple. These buttons, in conjunction with a set of switches on the right side, functioned as the system ignition keypad for the superlaser.
