The SureSnoop, a product of Rhinsome Tracking Corporation, was a type of surveillance tagger. While it was considered one of the more potent surveillance devices sold commercially, many planets regulated its use. It was comprised of a tracker and a small tag designed to be affixed to a target. These two components were synchronized to communicate using a shared frequency and pulse cycle. The tag, measuring only three centimeters in diameter, could be concealed almost anywhere, such as within comlinks, jewelry, or other personal possessions. It included a removable barb for attaching to clothing, and could also be disguised as a button or cufflink. A magnetic plate allowed attachment to metallic surfaces, including vehicles or droids.
With a range reaching five kilometers, the SureSnoop provided the tracker with precise details regarding the target's speed, direction, and distance. The tracker featured a holoprojector that, when loaded with area maps, could display the tag's location in a three-dimensional format. The SureSnoops were priced at 3,000 credits and had a weight of one kilogram. Additional or replacement tags were available for 500 credits each.
