A sylop face card
Sylop, which translates to "idiot" in Old Corellian, was a face card featured in several forms of the card game sabacc.
The face card known as Sylop appeared in different versions of sabacc. "Sylop" is a term that means "idiot" when translated from Old Corellian.
Within the sabacc variant called Corellian Spike, each deck included two sylop cards. Similar to its counterpart in standard sabacc, the Idiot, the sylop card held a value of zero.
In the Kessel Sabacc version of sabacc, there was only a single sylop card present in each deck. In contrast to Corellian Spike, the sylop assumed the numerical value of the other card held by a player, resulting in what is called Sylop Sabacc. However, if the player had used the Shift Token, Markdown, during that round, the sylop's value would be reset to zero. A pair of sylop cards in Kessel Sabacc was referred to as Pure Sabacc, considered the most powerful hand achievable in the game.
