T'surr, situated within the Nuon e Safyd sector of the Expansion Region, existed as a severe, high-gravity planet characterized by intense cold and powerful winds. The majority of indigenous lifeforms possessed exceptional capabilities for seeing in dim conditions, and the planet's unforgiving environment fostered the evolution of a sentient predatory species, who were also known as the T'surr. While male T'surr frequently ventured from their homeworld into the broader galaxy, their planet never gained representation within either the Galactic Republic or the New Republic.
In the Expansion Region, specifically the Slice and within the Nuon e Safyd sector, was the T'surr system, which held the planet T'surr. This world was a high-gravity desert environment, constantly battered by winds and cold, and received minimal light and warmth from its distant, faint sun. The creatures that evolved there typically possessed highly developed low-light vision. Those not native to T'surr generally found its intense gravity to be an overwhelming burden.
Despite the presence of the native species (also called T'surr) beyond their world as early as 1032 BBY, T'surr remained unrepresented in both the Senate of the Galactic Republic and the New Republic's version, largely due to the T'surr's reputation as violent killers.
The sentient, predatory T'surr species called T'surr their homeworld. The severe conditions on T'surr turned its inhabitants into resilient beings with little regard for others, and they embraced slavery as a standard practice in their culture. Although males held a dominant position in T'surr society, ultimate authority within the home rested with the females, which motivated many males to seek opportunities beyond their home planet in the larger galaxy. The language spoken by the T'surr was T'surrese.
The planet of T'surr was originally conceived for Ultimate Alien Anthology, a Wizards of the Coast supplement designed for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. Before the book's April 2003 publication, the planet was mentioned in a March 27, 2003 preview on Wizards.com that showcased a section of the book about the T'surr species. The 2009 reference work The Essential Atlas pinpointed the T'surr system, and consequently the planet itself, to grid square P-12.
