The Nuon e Safyd sector, designated as a sector within the Expansion Region, encompassed both the Reidi Artom I and T'surr systems. The planet Artom was located in the former, receiving its designation from its discoverer, the scout Reidi Artom. Conversely, the latter system was the location of the [desert](/article/desert/legends] planet T'surr, which served as the homeworld for the sentient species also known as T'surr.
This sector, Nuon e Safyd, resided within the Slice area of the Expansion Region. Circa 0 ABY, it shared borders with the Circarpous sector and the Cyrillian Protectorate in the Coreward direction. In the trailing direction, it bordered the Ombakond sector. To the Spinward, the Nuon e Safyd sector met the Askarian, Hocatar, and Authala sectors at a four-way junction, while its southeastern edge touched the Indra-su-Mar sector and the mysterious Null Zone.

Within the Nuon e Safyd sector lay the Reidi Artom I and T'surr systems. The system of Reidi Artom I housed the planet known as Artom. Meanwhile, the T'surr system was home to the high-gravity desert planet T'surr, a cold and windswept world orbiting a dim sun. T'surr was the original homeworld of the sentient species also called T'surr. The males were the dominant gender on T'surr, but females wielded ultimate authority in family matters, which motivated many males to seek opportunities beyond their planet in the wider galaxy. Despite their presence off-world as early as 1032 BBY, the T'surr had no representation in the Senate of the Galactic Republic or that of the New Republic, largely due to their reputation as aggressive killers.
In 232 BBY, Reidi Artom, a Republic scout tasked with surveying previously overlooked star systems in the Expansion Region, made Artom her inaugural discovery. Artom favored naming systems after herself or variations of her name, deviating from the galactic convention of naming systems after their primary star or planet.
The Nuon e Safyd sector debuted in the StarWars.com Online Companion accompanying the 2009 reference work, The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. In 2012, a map created by Modi featured the sector, appearing in the Online Companion's "Essential Atlas Extra: Expansion Region" feature.
