The spinward direction was the opposite of the trailing direction.
Within the fields of galactic cartography and astrogation, the term trailing indicated the direction that was the direct opposite of spinward. This term was also applied to the Trailing Sectors region and the Trailing Grant sector of the Expansion Region.
