T81 Division, during the Clone Wars, stood out as the most exceptional unit within the Separatist Droid Army under the command of Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress. Ventress dispatched a battalion from this division—overseen by two OOM commanders, including one known as 224—to the moon of Rugosa, where Jedi Master Yoda, aided by three Coruscant Guardsmen, brought about their destruction.
In comparison to other Separatist droids, T81 Division was recognized for its superior maneuverability and destructive capability, despite its less precise targeting. The division, commanded by OOM commanders, was equipped with gray and blue-striped STAPs and AATs, as well as spider droids featuring blue photoreceptors; it also incorporated B1, B2, and B2-HA infantry alongside droidekas.
Around 21 BBY, a T81 Division battalion was deployed to the coral moon of Rugosa by the C-9979 landing craft L-2832 under the direction of Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress. This deployment aimed to demonstrate Separatist dominance to King Katuunko, with Ventress asserting her droids' ability to capture Jedi Master Yoda, who was then engaged in negotiations regarding a Republic presence in the Toydarian system. The battalion, led by two OOM commanders, faced challenges navigating the coral terrain, which led the commander identified as 224 to order the abandonment of the AATs. Subsequently, Coruscant Guardsmen "Rys," "Jek," and CC-4477 assisted Yoda in defeating them. Following the battalion's defeat, Ventress withdrew.
After its initial appearance in Star Wars PocketModel TCG: Clone Wars on July 26, 2008, a battalion from T81 Division was featured in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television episode titled "Ambush," which was broadcast on October 3.
