Talk: Cha Niathal
Possible Image
Has anyone else who has a copy of the essential guide, Jedi vs Sith, noticed a Mon Calamari individual positioned on the far right, behind Caedus, in the image depicting Mara Jade's Funeral? I'm fairly confident that it is her. Only those who possess the book can view the entire image, as the version available on Wookieepedia is cropped. Steves490 20:46, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
It's plausible. My initial thought was that the Mon Calamari next to Solo was her, considering they both attended the funeral. However, it's challenging to discern definitively. Given his location in the Jedi area, your assessment is likely accurate. Steves490 00:28, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Successor
Out of sheer curiosity, does Niathal still hold the position of Supreme Commander of the Defense Force, or has someone taken her place? And if so, who is it? Jedi Wolf 18:10, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- The answer will probably be revealed in Legacy of the Force: Invincible. -- Darth Revanon 1:37, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
That's a valid point. My question arises from the current circumstances: the reported disagreement between her and President Caedus, and her role as Supreme Commander of her own forces as President of the Alliance-in-exile, which, as we all know, creates a leadership gap within Solo's faction. Invincible
Do we currently possess any information regarding Niathal's fate in Invincible? Darth Nikolai 06:43, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- The only mention of her is in connection with her participation in the Second Battle of Roche. Steves490 20:02, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Death Conjecture
While Invincible does mention the destruction of Niathal's forces, this does not definitively confirm her death at the end of the war. Her death is merely speculation and should not be included in the main article. Including it in the "Behind the Scenes" section might be more appropriate. Wookieepedia is intended to be an encyclopedia, and speculation is not encyclopedic content. Darthcraigious 02:54, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- My understanding is that the outcome of the Second Battle of Roche is revealed through Darth Caedus's thoughts either before or during the Battle of Shedu Maad. I don't recall the term "wiped out" being used, but Niathal's forces were indeed defeated. Steves490 14:30, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to argue, but the defeat of the Alliance-in-exile in the Second Battle of Roche doesn't explicitly state that Niathal died. Remember that Daala also lost a battle and lived. This relates to my speculation point; it seems out of place in the main text of an encyclopedic article. Darthcraigious 21:53, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- I concur; there's no indication of her death. The reason she didn't attempt to regain the Chief of State position might be that she had already grown tired of it by Revelation. Steves490 23:00, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- If nobody objects, I'll remove the references to her death from the article. I didn't want to modify someone else's work without prior discussion. Darthcraigious 20:17, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Suicide in "Backlash"
Should we incorporate the information that she commits suicide in "Backlash" to avoid facing a trial on Coruscant? Shannon_Jedi_Knight 09:47, March 4, 2010 (UTC)
