Talk: IG-88B
Is My Vision Deceiving Me?
This is the droid IG-88. Why does this page lack information? What is the reason for this? 72.199.200.174 11:13, June 2, 2014 (UTC)
- This represents the official Star Wars version of IG-88. The version from Legends can be found here .
Heading
Should the title be changed to IG-88B (canon) instead of IG-88 (canon)? I don't recall that designation ever being used for him in any official source. We are specifically discussing the bounty hunter, and not just any IG-88 unit. CloneMarshalCommanderCody (talk) 02:54, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
- The official version of IG-88 is identified with that name in both the SW.com Encyclopedia and Databank. Refer to the "Sources" section of this article. Toprawa and Ralltiir ( talk ) 03:05, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
IG-86 Series?
When was it confirmed that IG-88 is a droid belonging to the IG-86 series? —Unsigned comment by MmmmNapalm (talk • contribs).
Source Verification for the Introductory Quotation
It would be beneficial to create a backup of that quote, rather than simply linking to the website. —Unsigned comment by Afilmfanforlife (talk • contribs).

"Demise"
The article currently indicates that IG-88 met his end in 3 ABY. However, the recent comic book, Flight of the Falcon, Part 1: Spy Games, depicts him as still active after that point. Given that the comic makes no mention of his destruction, should we consider this a retcon, or can we simply assume that he underwent reconstruction? Zed42 (talk) 04:37, October 3, 2018 (UTC)
- We shouldn't automatically assume he was rebuilt, as it might be another IG-88 unit (A, B, C,...). It might be best to phrase it as "IG-88 managed to survive the encounter, blah blah blah," keeping the details ambiguous. - Cwedin (talk) 04:43, October 3, 2018 (UTC) We are aware of five Phlutdroids in canon (according to the updated Complete Visual Dictionary), but unfortunately, their specific designations are currently unknown. --Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 09:15, October 3, 2018 (UTC)
Conflicting Origin Stories
It appears that the backstory of IG-88 (which was essentially his Legends backstory) as presented in the updated Character Encyclopedia and Complete Visual Dictionary has been superseded. Scum and Villainy portrays him as a Separatist battle droid who gained freedom through the Droid Gotra, a narrative that seems entirely at odds with his origins as described in the previously mentioned sources. How should we address this discrepancy? Personally, I would give more weight to Scum and Villainy over the updated CVD, especially considering that Pablo Hidalgo was unaware of its existence, despite being credited as the primary author. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 21:10, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
- It seems Age of Rebellion Special 1 will also delve into IG-88's origins this coming April -- Lewisr ( talk ) 21:27, February 5, 2019 (UTC) While I do not personally possess Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, my edits based on it are from information I've learned is contained within. It's presented entirely through police logs. While the book may not have intended this for the wiki, it could be argued that the police logs identified him as a former Separatist battle droid, and they were simply mistaken.--Afilmfanforlife (talk) 21:57, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
Rename to IG-88B/Canon
I propose that the page's title should be altered to IG-88B, given his identification as IG-88B, his Legends designation, in the Force Collection (Canon Card game).SW-CanonDetailer01 17:53, April 29, 2019 (UTC)
- I concur. Although I don't own Star Wars: Force Collection , I've observed his card identifying him as IG-88B. -- Supreme Commander Raxus ( talk ) 18:00, April 29, 2019 The decision was made to use the most common designation, which is IG-88. Should newer sources consistently refer to him as IG-88B, we can then consider renaming the page. See the discussion [here] --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 19:58, April 29, 2019 (UTC)
Location of Card
I made an edit on the Star Wars: Force Collection page to reflect that IG-88 is identified as IG-88B, based on my visit to the card list on the Force Collection wiki. To verify this, navigate to the IG-88 article, access the sources section, and click on the first card link, which will direct you to the relevant site.SW-CanonDetailer01 19:54, April 29, 2019 (UTC)
Age of Rebellion Timeline
The IG-88 page mentions that Timelines places the events of his Age of Rebellion story around 2 BBY. Since I don’t have a copy of Timelines, I was curious about the specifics, as the story takes place across two time periods. It begins with a mission on a forest planet, then jumps forward five years to a mission on Kalarassi V. 2 BBY seems like an arbitrary date for the story, but I was wondering if it was referring to the opening being 2 BBY instead of the later story, so that the story takes place in 3 ABY.
