Tanis Mothma


Tanis Mothma was a Human female politician. Before the Clone Wars, she held the position of governor for Hanna City on the planet Chandrila. Her husband worked as an arbiter-general in the Galactic Republic, and their daughter, Mon Mothma, would later become the senator representing the Bormea sector. These events all occurred in the years preceding the conflict.

Biography

Living on Chandrila was a Human female named Tanis Mothma. Married to a man who was an arbiter-general within the Galactic Republic, they had a daughter named Mon Mothma. In the time leading up to the Clone Wars, Mothma served as the governor of Hanna City. She imparted knowledge of administration, organization, and leadership to her daughter. In 22 BBY, Mothma made a statement regarding the walk-out by the planet's Public Safety Commission—a protest against the vote to establish a Grand Army of the Republic—observing that they took every precaution to ensure the strike didn't endanger others by programming droids to handle the increased workload. Eventually, Jovive Centi succeeded Mothma as governor of Hanna City.
