Tanno Vik's parent, a Weequay of the female gender, existed in the era of the Great Galactic War. She passed away as she was placing her offspring, Tanno Vik, on a ship headed for Nar Shaddaa; it was there that he was raised as an orphan. Even though Vik rarely spoke of his mother to others, he would not accept any disparaging remarks about her, and he felt she was the greatest mother imaginable.
The mother of Tanno Vik is referenced in Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire during Chapter 6: Asylum. Should the player be a Trooper, Vik will point out that the player never showed disrespect towards his mother.
