Specifically, it was built within the Salma Desert, and it served as the primary operational headquarters for the Tao-Ni Security organization. To defend the compound, the organization employed B1-series battle droids, in addition to more advanced battle droids of the Alpha and Omega Class varieties.
The 2003 Star Wars Galaxies video game featured the Tao-Ni Security Compound as a location. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was the product of development by Sony Online Entertainment and publishing by LucasArts. The game was eventually shut down on December 15, 2011. The inclusion of the Tao-Ni Security Compound in the game occurred with the "IG-88 heroic encounter", which was released as part of the "Chapter 7" update on November 1, 2007.
