Tarsa, a world covered in forests, existed within the Tarsa system as a planet. Its location was in the Mid Rim region.
An Imperial relay station resided on the planet, serving the purpose of sending fleet commands throughout the galaxy. After his escape from Imperial captivity on Tarsa, Luke Skywalker annihilated this station. Furthermore, Tarsa was infested with numerous enormous Alessian terror moths.
In contrast to Yoda's spoken words in Star Wars: Yoda Stories, which depict a forest moon of Tarsa, the Essential Atlas (a later and more canonical source) describes Tarsa as a planet.
