Tarth Vames served as the head of a docking pad located on the planet of Dathomir during the year 43.5 ABY. Because of the conditions of his banishment from the Jedi Order, he tried to stop Luke and Ben Skywalker from making a landing. Subsequently, when Han and Leia Solo arrived in search of Luke and Ben, they sought Vames' assistance in locating them, and also in obtaining guides and provisions for their travels.
To his considerable irritation, Solo frequently called him 'Darth Vames'.
