Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: The Art and Making of (initially named "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Art of the Game") is a book that showcases the pre-production artwork for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and it was made available in August of 2008. This book, offering a look behind the scenes, explores how the game's concept was developed, featuring conversations with George Lucas regarding the game's position within the Star Wars narrative and unused game ideas and artwork; it concludes with sections about the groundbreaking technology employed in the game's creation. Hayden Christensen wrote the foreword, and Haden Blackman, the project's leader, along with Brett Rector, the assistant producer for the game's development, are the authors. The book, first known as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Art of the Game, had plans to introduce a concept known as The Council, set in a period 500 years after Darth Vader's passing, where the Sith and Jedi had formed a shaky agreement. However, this idea was ultimately removed.
