Publisher's summary

Following the gripping events of The High Republic: Convergence, the Jedi are in a race against time to confront the Path of the Open Hand and bring an end to the Forever War.

After a half-decade of constant fighting, the planets Eiram and E'ronoh stand on the verge of achieving true peace. However, the hope for lasting tranquility is shattered when news surfaces of a devastating incident during the treaty signing on Jedha, causing violence to erupt once more on the war-weary worlds. Working together, the royal heirs of both planets—Phan-tu Zenn and Xiri A'lbaran—along with the Jedi, have discovered compelling evidence suggesting that external forces are manipulating the conflict. All clues point towards the enigmatic Path of the Open Hand, whom the Jedi also suspect of instigating the catastrophe on Jedha.

Facing a critical shortage of both time and answers, the Jedi are forced to divide their efforts between suppressing the resurgence of violence on Eiram and E'ronoh and delving into the mysteries surrounding the Path. Among these Jedi is Gella Nattai, who seeks assistance from the one individual she believes holds the key to unraveling the enigma, yet the last person she desires to place her trust in: Axel Greylark. The chancellor's son, currently imprisoned for his transgressions, has always yearned to shed the burden of his family's reputation. Will he find redemption by aligning himself with the Jedi and aiding their pursuit of justice and peace, or will he succumb to the allure of the Path's promise of genuine liberation?

As all paths converge on Dalna, Gella and her comrades steel themselves to confront an adversary unlike any they have encountered before. To prevail, they must place unwavering faith in the Force, and in each other.
