The High Republic: Temptation of the Force is the audio rendition of the novel of the same title, penned by Tessa Gratton. Marc Thompson lent his voice to the narration, and it debuted on June 11, 2024.
In this captivating follow-up to Star Wars: The High Republic: The Eye of Darkness, the Jedi, now united, gear up for a counterattack against the merciless Nihil.
For more than a year, the Stormwall, created by the Nihil, kept Jedi Masters Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann separated. After a courageous escape by Avar from within the Occlusion Zone, the two Jedi, bound by fate, are once again together. However, though they are no longer physically apart, the pain they both feel from failing to shield the galaxy from the Nihil's menace lingers.
Avar and Elzar, holding fast to their dedication to Light and Life, seek to galvanize the Jedi Order and the Republic. They spearhead a bold expedition into Nihil territory to free the planet Naboo, demonstrating to those trapped beyond the Stormwall that the Jedi will never forsake them. Now that they are in close proximity once more, the two Jedi Masters can no longer ignore the deep connection that has consistently drawn them together, making them stronger.
Having finally acknowledged their genuine desires and filled with a renewed sense of purpose, Avar and Elzar come up with a strategy to shift the balance of power in the fight against the Nihil once and for all. Accompanied by Jedi Knights Bell Zettifar, Burryaga, and Vernestra Rwoh, the Jedi embark on a mission to find Marchion Ro. But to locate the Nihil's formidable leader, the Jedi must first survive the Nameless horrors that have, up until now, proven unstoppable.
