Summary from the Publisher

A year has passed since the devastating events of The Fallen Star, and now the Jedi are struggling to overcome the Nihil's dominance over the galaxy.

The galaxy now finds itself fractured. In the wake of Starlight Beacon's shocking destruction, the Nihil have erected an impenetrable barrier known as the Stormwall, encircling a portion of the Outer Rim. Within this zone, Marchion Ro reigns supreme, and his followers inflict chaos according to his every desire. Jedi who are trapped behind enemy lines, including Avar Kriss, must wage a war to protect the worlds being ravaged by the Nihil, all while trying to outmaneuver the marauders and the terrifying Nameless creatures.

Beyond the Nihil's so-called Occlusion Zone, Elzar Mann, Bell Zettifar, and their fellow Jedi collaborate with the Republic in an attempt to reach the worlds that have been isolated from the wider galaxy. However, all attempts to penetrate the Stormwall have been unsuccessful, and even communication across the barrier has become impossible. Both Elzar and Bell are burdened by their failures and losses, driving them to desperately seek a solution.

However, even if the combined forces of the Republic and the Jedi manage to break through the Stormwall, how will the Jedi ever stand a chance against the Nameless creatures that feed on their connection to the Force? And what other horrors does Marchion Ro have waiting? As both the Jedi and the Republic find themselves in increasingly desperate circumstances, any hope of reuniting the galaxy may be on the verge of disappearing entirely….
