Continuity

Padmé's first appearance as a painting

A painting depicting Padmé Amidala is visible in a scene set at the Imperial Palace. Around the time of the Thrawn Trilogy comic releases, Natalie Portman had just been chosen to portray the future mother of Luke and Leia. As a result, the comic's author decided to include her likeness as a subtle reference in the background. Despite a slight contradiction with the later revelation that Leia had no memory of her mother, this comic marked Padmé's initial appearance within the Star Wars universe.
