The desolate expanse known as The Long Shadow was a region of space located at the very boundary of the galaxy, deep within the Outer Rim Territories. This area was primarily characterized by a supermassive black hole, which, according to tales from spacers who claimed to have witnessed it, was gradually devouring the galaxy. To successfully traverse the Long Shadow, one needed a specialized sensor computer, a particular [hyperdrive](/article/hyperdrive/legends], and substantial radiation shielding. Within this region lay a wrecked ship that contained the legendary treasure of Nok Drayen. Once equipped with the required technology, the smuggler who would later be called the Voidhound journeyed to the Long Shadow with the aim of securing the treasure before the black hole completely destroyed the ship.
