Publisher's summary

Following a succession of military failures, the New Republic is faltering. Exploiting the fear generated by their brutality, the Yuuzhan Vong have proposed a deal to worlds not yet conquered: they will be spared the full force of the invasion in exchange for the Jedi Knights. Among the desperate in the New Republic, the Yuuzhan Vong warmaster's offer is met with enthusiasm. However, the warmaster is not alone in desiring the Jedi; a Yuuzhan Vong High Priestess has her own sinister intentions for those with Force abilities, and she has already captured her initial subjects for experimentation. Danni Quee, a scientist and former prisoner of the Yuuzhan Vong, seeks only to evade the terrifying alien invaders. But her encounter with Jorallen, a Jedi cloaked in mystery, ignites her suspicion and leads her on a quest to find missing Jedi - and uncover the secrets Jorallen may be concealing. As Luke, Han, and Leia strive to shield the Jedi from those who would betray them, Danni and Jorallen venture deeper into enemy territory. The very survival of the Jedi may hang in the balance...
