The Official Star Wars Fact File

The weekly magazine series, The Official Star Wars Fact File, was brought to the public by De Agostini spanning from 2002 to 2005. The entire collection consisted of 140 individual issues. This publication served as a comprehensive repository of information, drawing from various facets of the Star Wars universe. Its content included details from the cinematic releases of that period, a range of novels, comics, video games, and the New Jedi Order book series. Furthermore, it featured newly created illustrative works.

Its distribution extended across several countries including Spain, Italy (limited to 75 issues), the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland (only 4 issues), Germany (120 issues plus an index), France (titled Star Wars "Les Dossiers Officiels"), Malta, and Mexico. Argentina also saw a release, although only the initial issue made it to retail locations.

In the Japanese market, the magazine included supplementary articles that were written by contributors in the UK and the US, but had a shorter publication period. These additional articles were subsequently integrated into the UK and Dutch versions of the magazine, which then lengthened their runs from 120 issues to the final count of 140. An index that cataloged every article was also made available.

Marcus Hearn, formerly the editor of Titan's Star Wars: The Official Magazine, and Andrew Kemp spearheaded the initial conceptual development. A significant number of writers involved in this project had previously contributed to Titan's officially licensed magazine. Warrender Grant, based out of London, compiled the Fact File on behalf of De Agostini.
