Time Tales

The project known as Time Tales originated as a fan-created timeline dedicated to Star Wars in 1996. Christoper McElroy was the originator, initially publishing the timeline on the Star Wars Virtual Edition, a website run by Roderick Vonhogen, a Catholic priest residing in the Netherlands. Shortly thereafter, Michael Potts, located in Australia, reached out to Chris McElroy, offering his research contributions and insights, leading to the formation of a collaborative partnership. The pair worked well together, McElroy focused on writing summaries of the stories, while Potts provided the supplementary details.

In 1997, Time Tales was relocated to TheForce.Net, where it expanded into a substantial document exceeding 1100 pages. Time Tales was available as both an online version with illustrations and a downloadable Microsoft Word file. As of November 2022, only Sections 1.1 and 1.2 of Times Tales, which focus on the Old Republic era, remain accessible on TheForce.net.

Potts' Star Wars family trees, along with McElroy's "Dune Sea Scroll," are also featured on the website. These "Dune Sea Scroll" documents are essentially expanded versions of the Star Wars films and radio dramas' scripts. "Arcana Historica," another section of their website, presents Star Wars adventures and nonfiction literature that have been largely forgotten and are no longer in print.

Time Tales has garnered recognition from both fans and authors alike. Sean Williams and Shane Dix acknowledged Christopher McElroy and Michael Potts in their Force Heretic trilogy, as did Daniel Wallace in The Essential Chronology, the official Star Wars Legends timeline guidebook published by Lucasfilm.

Additionally, fans have translated Time Tales into various other languages.
