Tiv Pocarno, also known as "Poke", served as a pilot flying starfighters until disciplinary issues brought his career to an abrupt end. Following this, Pocarno acquired a TL-1800 freighter and became a gunrunner. A series of unfortunate choices led to his financial ruin, and one of his creditors, Torel Vorne, seized both his ship and his organs, resulting in Pocarno's death.
Tiv "Poke" Pocarno's career as a pilot, while lengthy, was not particularly distinguished. He started his career flying starfighters.
Pocarno found himself embroiled in an unspecified incident involving the fiancée of a higher-ranking officer. As punishment, Pocarno was court-martialed and relieved of his military obligations, though the official report omitted the true details. Pocarno himself felt the punishment was undeserved.
With his savings, Pocarno purchased the Broken 'Spanner, a TL-1800 Transport from Suwantek Systems with the intention of using it for smuggling, despite the poorly concealed compartments and the ship's poor condition. For three decades, Pocarno supplied weapons to pirates and revolutionaries, including the Alliance to Restore the Republic, motivated not by genuine ideals, but by a desire to undermine the organization that had discharged him.
Throughout those years, Pocarno relied on incompetent outlaw techs to maintain his ship. They equipped it with illegal weaponry, shield generators, and improved sublight speed capabilities, but the maintenance proved costly in both time and money.
In dire need of funds, Pocarno sought a loan from Torel Vorne, a crime lord from Reuss VIII. He then attempted a smuggling operation off Rampa III to cover his expenses, but the endeavor failed. Vorne demanded repayment, and invoking certain clauses of their agreement, he also claimed some of Pocarno's internal organs, leading to his demise.
