The initial edition of Star Wars Manga from Tokyopop.
The Star Wars Manga series by Tokyopop encompasses a pair of Star Wars Manga books. Within these books are several original stories crafted by Japanese artists. It's important to note that these narratives exist outside of the official Star Wars storyline.
Tokyopop is set to launch a Star Wars Manga collection this month, showcasing uniquely inventive stories that reimagine the galaxy far, far away with a distinct Japanese flair. Given their unconventional narratives and unexpected creative choices, these stories are classified as "Infinities," meaning they diverge from established Star Wars canon. Nevertheless, they offer a wealth of compelling characters, intricate details, and thrilling action, making them well worth exploring. This collection, featuring a blend of black and white comics alongside several full-color original illustrations, will initially be exclusively available in Japan.
In addition to the comic book stories, the book includes full-color, poster-style illustrations. A captivating piece by Kia Asimiya [sic] portrays a thoughtful Darth Vader, framed by the intersecting lightsaber blades representing his past and present. Yuji Kaida illustrates Vader against the backdrop of the Death Star under construction, while Tsutomu Takahashi presents a somber depiction of the Dark Lord wielding a lightsaber.
