Tol Sivron was a male Twi'lek hailing from Ryloth. He was once a member of the Head Clan, but was later banished from his home planet. Following his departure from Ryloth, Sivron secured a position as a manager within the Imperial Department of Military Research. He eventually rose to become the Chief Administrator at the Maw Installation.
Sivron's early life was spent as an active member of the Head Clan on Ryloth. Upon his selection, it was assumed that he would remain in the Head Clan for a significant duration. However, approximately a year later, tragedy struck when another Head Clan member died in an accident during a project inspection. As a result, Sivron and three other members of the Head Clan were expelled. Sivron persuaded the others to combine their remaining resources and attempt to survive in a nearby, deserted cave system.
Under the cover of night, while the other former Head Clan members were asleep, Sivron committed murder, killing all of them. After taking their supplies, he embarked on a journey across the desert. Eventually, he stumbled upon an Imperial refueling station on Ryloth, where he encountered a young Moff named Wilhuff Tarkin. Tarkin soon realized that Sivron possessed exceptional managerial skills, particularly in handling complex business arrangements.
In due course, Tarkin appointed Tol Sivron as the Chief Administrator overseeing the research facilities at the Maw Installation. For over a decade, Sivron managed the facility responsible for developing weapons such as the Death Star I and the Sun Crusher.
When New Republic forces launched an invasion of the facility, Sivron, along with other scientists, fled aboard the Death Star prototype orbiting the station. He transported the weapon to Kessel and utilized its superlaser to obliterate the planet's Garrison Moon, demonstrating the weapon's destructive power. He then returned to the Maw Installation with the intention of destroying it to prevent it from falling into Rebel hands. However, Sivron met his end when the Death Star prototype plunged into a nearby black hole during his attempt to pursue and destroy the stolen Sun Crusher, which had begun attacking the battle station.
Tol Sivron avoided making independent decisions, preferring strict adherence to established procedures. He possessed a highly bureaucratic mindset, structuring his life around committee meetings. Furthermore, he consistently deflected blame, attributing failures to others or to procedural shortcomings, rather than accepting personal responsibility.
Kevin J. Anderson, an author, was the creator of Tol Sivron. Sivron's unwavering adherence to station protocol is a satirical representation of the strict protocols enforced at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where Anderson was employed for twelve years.
