The final resting place of Vodal Kressh, known as the Tomb of Vodal Kressh, was constructed on the planet of Athiss to house the remains of the Sith alchemist. Those who once served Vodal Kressh in life stayed at the tomb on Athiss, and their offspring eventually became known as the Tomb Dwellers. The tomb was unwittingly discovered when Galactic Republic survey team six-eight-nine-mark-one made landfall on Athiss; the team was driven to insanity and subsequently assaulted by the Dwellers. In response, both the Republic and the Sith Empire assembled strike forces to delve into the disappearance of the survey team. One of these teams made its way to the tomb and fought through the guardians and disciples within, ultimately confronting the Prophet of Vodal Kressh, who was the leader of the dwellers. After defeating the prophet in combat, the team retrieved a collection of Sith artifacts that were located inside the tomb of the Sith Lord.
Millennia afterward, around the time of the Battle of Yavin, whispers circulated that the Republic had eradicated Kressh and his adherents, but that a sinister cult continued to safeguard his tomb.
