A Grab-Field Generator created what is known as a tractor field. This field's function was to collect ions from the space surrounding a starfighter and direct them towards the solar gather-panels. At the panels, these ions were gathered and subsequently moved to the Microparticle Ion Accelerator. Furthermore, texture-molding tractor fields played a role in the creation of molecularly bonded armor.
