Transport 714

Transport 714 was a Multi-Troop Transport from the Trade Federation that saw action during the Invasion of Naboo. During the invasion's early stages, a STAP chasing a fleeing speeder collided with the transport. This collision rendered the transport inoperable, causing it to submerge in the Solleu River.

A young and hungry colo claw fish, having lost its parents, repeatedly tried to break through the MTT's hull, damaging the craft and breaking several teeth in the process. This creature hampered any attempts to recover the vehicle. Eventually, Gungan divers recovered the transport, after which the Naboo Resistance repaired it and modified it to carry human soldiers.

During the Second Battle of Theed, the Naboo Resistance utilized the craft to discreetly transport several individuals to a concealed passage entrance located in the cliff face beneath Theed. Queen Amidala, Sabé, Captain Quarsh Panaka, Mett Habble, R2-D2, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and numerous RSF troops and pilots then disembarked to secretly infiltrate the city. Their objective was to seize Theed Royal Palace and capture the Neimoidian Viceroy Nute Gunray. A contingent of Resistance fighters remained behind to guard the transport, securing it as a potential fallback and escape vehicle should the mission fail.

Shortly after, the Gungan Grand Army began drawing the Trade Federation Droid Army away from the city. PDA-2 contacted the MTT, confused by its presence below the cliff after reports indicated it had sunk into the river. PDA-2 then remotely piloted the transport to a repair bay located in the Royal Hangar. The Resistance members informed Panaka of the new rendezvous location and proceeded to attack the B1-series battle droids inside the repair bay. They eventually disembarked to stop Gode Takrab from delivering a false peace treaty. The battle concluded swiftly, removing any need for the transport to be used for escape.

Behind the curtain

The roleplaying adventure Peril on Naboo features Transport 714 as a recurring element. This article is based on the guided overview of the adventure, although the adventure does allow for alternate paths. If the heroes do not escape Theed in a speeder along the Solleu River, an NPC will volunteer information about the MTT during the planning session with Amidala. The heroes may also fail to fool PDA-2, or may disable the craft instead of allowing it to be moved.
