A treddroid represented a model of droid that found utilization within the field of mining and associated operations. Notably, one such unit existed on Bal'demnic during the year 67 BBY, fulfilling a supervisory role over an Em-2 mining probe. Furthermore, it was employed by both Darth Tenebrous and his apprentice, Plagueis, in the examination of a cortosis vein.
