A lightning device was implemented by Trioculus, the Galactic Empire warlord, as a means to replicate the powers of Force lightning. This cybernetic technology was placed within Trioculus's body by his personal medical droid, MD-5. To persuade a gathering of Imperial officers that he was the offspring of the deceased Galactic Emperor Palpatine, Trioculus employed this device. The warlord, however, was forced to cease using the implant without delay because the electricity it produced had the potential to be fatal.
