Turak IV
Turak IV was a planet situated in the Turak system of the Outer Rim Territories.
History
It was a seismically active planet, its plains covered in lava, where the Galactic Empire inflicted heavy losses on the Rebel Alliance, though many S-1 FireHawke Heavy Repulsortanks were lost.
The Imperials suffered this disaster because General Maltaz permitted the two tank battalions to be severed from their supply lines by counterattacking Rebel forces—the Hitak Harriers—stationed in the volcanic Hitak mountains. Maltaz ordered the tanks to hold their position, and all but three were destroyed before TIE Fighters arrived to bombard the Rebel landing field, killing many Rebels and wrecking much of their equipment.
Following the loss of so many tanks on Turak IV, Ubrikkian Industries sharply reduced production of the new Imperial Repulsortank 1-H.
