The Tyberious Institute of Xenobiology: An Overview
The celestial body Randorn 2 was once visited by a group of researchers affiliated with the Tyberious Institute of Xenobiology. While there, the xenobiologists unearthed millennia-old shells belonging to the native ibliton mollusk within the local swamps. Furthermore, the researchers intervened during an attack by an ibliton on a Mizx village, successfully defending the inhabitants and ultimately killing the creature.
The Tyberious Institute of Xenobiology was named after the Tyberious system situated within the Inner Rim's.

A group of researchers from the xenobiology institute, including Meslinger, at one point journeyed to the Outer Rim Territories world of Randorn 2, the homeworld of the large, predatory ibliton mollusk. In the swamps there, the xenobiologists discovered ibliton shells dating back thousands of years.
On one occasion, while the researchers were present, an ibliton launched an assault on a village inhabited by the indigenous Mizx species of Randorn 2. Meslinger witnessed the creature destroying a local dwelling in pursuit of its inhabitants. The xenobiologists managed to kill the ibliton, saving the lives of almost all the villagers. Meslinger also attended the funeral of the Mizx who perished. By the time of the Galactic Empire's reign, a holobrochure entry at the Tagge Holographic Museum on the planet Chandrila, which was dedicated to the ibliton, mentioned the Tyberious Institute of Xenobiology researchers' visit to Randorn 2.
Phil Brucato conceived the Tyberious Institute of Xenobiology for Creatures of the Galaxy, a 1994 sourcebook by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
