Umbaran capital city
The chief city of Umbara, acting as its capital, was located on the planet of Umbara, which itself resided within the Ghost Nebula. A large-scale conflict unfolded there during the era of the Clone Wars. Throughout this conflict, the city received essential supplies through the airfield in close proximity, until the 501st Legion, under the leadership of Jedi Master Pong Krell and Captain Rex, seized control of the airbase.
History
Back in 3629 BBY, Theron Shan, working as an undercover operative for the Eternal Alliance while posing as a member of the Order of Zildrog, commandeered a hovertrain transporting adegan crystals to the capital. The hovertrain ultimately crashed en route, and most of the surviving security personnel were soon after eliminated by the indigenous wildlife.
During the Clone Wars, the city functioned as Umbara's capital. At one juncture, the Umbarans chose to switch their allegiance to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, triggering a Republic assault on Umbara. The capital became a significant battleground, defended by the Umbaran militia. A nearby airbase provided logistical support during the battle until clone troopers from the 501st Legion captured it. Ultimately, High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi along with Marshal Commander Cody, leading the 212th Attack Battalion, successfully took control of the capital and maintained their hold, securing a Republic victory on Umbara.
