Unidentified bouncer

A male individual served as a doorman at the Rimmer's Rest drinking establishment, which was located on the lunar settlement of Nar Shaddaa. This occurred during the galactic standard year of 5 ABY. His responsibilities included greeting individuals entering the Rimmer's Rest with a memorized speech, advertising the cantina as the best on Nar Shaddaa. In that year, the doorman greeted both the droid information broker 8t88 and Rebel Alliance operative Kyle Katarn upon their arrival. The meeting between them escalated into a firefight, which concluded after Katarn eliminated the mercenaries hired by 8t88 from the Rimmer's Rest.

Biography

The bouncer welcomed both Kyle Katarn and 8t88 to the Rimmer's Rest.

An individual of male gender was employed as a doorman at the Rimmer's Rest drinking establishment situated on the lunar surface of Nar Shaddaa. Besides relaying drink requests to the server known as Timmy, the doorman also greeted patrons with a frequently repeated sales pitch, claiming the cantina was the best available on the moon. He also managed table reservations.

During the year 5 ABY, the doorman accepted a reservation for a booth from a man identified as Kyle Katarn. However, he subsequently allowed another patron to occupy the booth. Around the same time, the droid information broker 8t88 visited the cantina. The doorman assured 8t88 that the Rimmer's Rest welcomed droids, provided 8t88 possessed sufficient credits to pay. Nevertheless, when 8t88 attempted to inquire about an individual he was scheduled to meet at the bar, the doorman declined to listen, as it involved interfering in the affairs of others. Although 8t88 agreed with the sentiment, he persisted in his inquiry until his contact located him.

Approximately an hour later, Katarn entered the establishment, only to discover that the doorman had given his reserved booth to someone else. Instead of the booth, the doorman directed Katarn to table number four and loudly announced Katarn's drink order, Novanian grog, across the crowded cantina to Timmy. Soon after, Katarn met with 8t88, who had arranged the meeting, and engaged in a business transaction that quickly became violent.

Personality and traits

The doorman displayed a welcoming attitude towards guests entering the bar and recited a "welcome pitch" promoting the Rimmer's Rest, although his tone when giving the pitch suggested he found the phrase tiresome. Considering the secretive interactions of the patrons, the doorman made it a point to avoid involvement in other people's affairs, and refused to listen to 8t88's reason for being at the cantina. Despite having reserved a booth for Katarn in advance, the doorman nonetheless allowed another patron to take the table, much to Katarn's annoyance. Upon receiving Katarn's drink order, the doorman simply shouted it to the bartender.

Behind the scenes

The unnamed doorman made an appearance in the audio drama adaptation of the 1997 novella Dark Forces: Rebel Agent, even though he was not present in the novella itself. Tim Glovatsky portrayed the doorman, and was credited as "Bar Bouncer."
