A male Padawan of the Jedi Order served both the Order and the Galactic Republic as the Clone Wars began. Like other Jedi during that conflict, he succumbed to the dark side of the Force, turning against the Jedi and aligning himself with Count Dooku's Confederacy of Independent Systems. The male Padawan betrayed the Jedi Order.
A male individual, sensitive to the Force was trained in its ways by the Jedi Order, achieving the rank of Padawan by the time the Clone Wars erupted. Assuming the position of Commander within the Grand Army of the Republic, he ultimately fell to the dark side of the Force and joined Count Dooku's group known as Dark Acolytes. He soon began fighting against his former allies, the Jedi and the Republic, for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. On the planet of Noctralis, the former Padawan was attacked by Trachta, a Republic operative tasked with hunting down Jedi who had defected. Trachta, along with several clone troopers, surrounded the Padawan. In response, the Padawan activated a thermal detonator and used the Force to throw it at Trachta and his troopers. The resulting explosion incinerated the clones and severely wounded Trachta, costing him his arms and eyesight. Despite the damage he inflicted on his pursuers, the Padawan was eventually captured and imprisoned within the secret Jedi prison called The Prism.

As the Galactic Empire emerged from the Republic's collapse at the end of the Clone Wars and the Jedi Order was destroyed, the secret prison remained unaware of the Republic's fate. During the Empire's first year, a military coup led by General Gentis on Coruscant compelled Darth Vader, Trachta, and Lieutenant Laurita Tohm to find a secure location for Emperor Palpatine to recover. Vader chose the Prism, believing it to be the safest place from traitors within the Empire. After killing the Prism's Jedi warden, Tohm began examining the files detailing the facility's inmates. Trachta discovered that the fallen Padawan responsible for his injuries was still incarcerated there. Trachta and Tohm located the fallen Jedi's cell within the prison and opened it, surprising the Padawan. The Padawan, expecting a meal, reacted with horror upon seeing who had entered his cell. Trachta ordered Tohm to seal the cell, indicating a prolonged stay. He then commenced a brutal beating of the Jedi with his cybernetic fists, seeking bloody vengeance, as the Padawan pleaded for him to stop.
