The planet known as Da'nor was the ancestral homeworld of a semi-sentient species of flying lizards. These lizards, characterized by their wings and iridescent skin, were ectothermic creatures. During the time period of 0 ABY, a small group of Rebel survivors found themselves stranded on Da'nor after a crash landing. Among them was a twelve-year-old named Stuart Zissu, who formed an unlikely bond with one of these lizards as he traversed the planet.

This species of winged lizard made their home on the planet of Da'nor, which was situated within the Varada sector of the galaxy. These lizards, ectotherms, were indigenous to the planet's warm equatorial regions and possessed a single heart. Their wings could be folded against their bodies, and their iridescent skin displayed shades of green, yellow, and purple. In terms of size, these lizards were relatively small when compared to Humans.
In the year 0 ABY, an escape pod carrying a small contingent of Rebels, including the twelve-year-old Human Stuart Zissu and the droids C-3PO, 4B-X, and R2-D2, experienced a crash landing on Da'nor. Upon landing, Zissu discovered a lizard frozen to the escape pod's wing. 4B-X hypothesized that the pod had inadvertently captured the creature while flying over a warmer area. Realizing that the lizard would die in the cold, Zissu took it in and nursed it back to health.

The flying lizards made their debut appearance in the 1999 junior novel titled Star Wars Science Adventures: Journey Across Planet X, authored by Jude Watson and K.D. Burkett. One of these lizards is prominently featured on the book's cover.
