In the year of 32 BBY, a light-skinned male Human serving as a grenadier was a member of the Royal Naboo Security Forces. Dressed in a uniform akin to the Queen's Palace Guard, this grenadier participated in the defense against the Trade Federation during the Invasion of Naboo. When Trade Federation forces entered the capital city, he engaged a grenade droid using his own grenades, before retreating to safety. Subsequently, he encountered Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was then on a mission to liberate the Queen from her captors within the Trade Federation. The grenadier then requested Kenobi to follow him, leading the Jedi to an Armored Assault Tank that was pinning down fellow Naboo guards. The grenadier provided Kenobi with several ion grenades, requesting his assistance in neutralizing the tank. Furthermore, the grenadier instructed Kenobi to return should he require additional grenades.
Kenobi assisted the Naboo guards by deploying an ion grenade onto the Armored Assault Tank, after which he continued forward with his mission.
This grenadier makes an appearance in the video game Star Wars: Obi-Wan, released in 2001. The player controls Kenobi and encounters him during the third chapter. Subtitles identify him simply as "Man"; he shares a character model with other grenadiers, and the voice actor remains uncredited. Players can choose to ignore the grenadier's request, or destroy the tank. This article assumes the player chose to destroy the tank. The player has the option to return to the grenadier for additional grenades at any point. As an alternative, the player is also able to kill the grenadier.
