Unidentified henchman (the Cauldron)

A humanoid minion working for Count Dooku, the leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, oversaw the gladiator combat at the Cauldron arena on the planet Rattatak during the time of the Clone Wars. This minion's role was to supply Dooku with potential recruits in the count's search for a new underling. However, while this henchman was presenting the gladiators to Dooku, Asajj Ventress, a Sith hopeful, abruptly murdered the host; Dooku, however, was pleased to welcome Ventress as his new acolyte.

Biography

The henchman welcomes Count Dooku to the Cauldron gladiator arena.

During the era of the Clone Wars, a humanoid character functioned as the overseer of the gladiator fighting at the Cauldron arena, found on the planet of Rattatak. This individual, a servant of Count Dooku (a Sith Lord who also led the Confederacy of Independent Systems), greeted Dooku upon his arrival at the arena sometime before 21.95 BBY, specifically four weeks after the war began. Dooku's mission was to find a new apprentice from among the gladiators fighting on that day.

Dooku had previously requested specific arrangements for the Cauldron, and upon arriving in his solar sailer, the henchman assured him that everything was prepared as he desired. The arena's overseer then escorted Dooku to a private viewing of the gladiatorial contests, where the Sith Lord could observe the combatants demonstrating their skills.

Dooku and his henchman settled into a viewing box high above the Cauldron arena, observing the battles unfolding below. As they watched, Asajj Ventress, a Sith hopeful, unexpectedly entered their box and silently killed the henchman, taking his place beside Count Dooku. Dooku acknowledged the act, remarking that the henchman would have admired her infiltration skills, albeit posthumously. After Ventress proved her abilities by defeating all the Cauldron's gladiators, Dooku was satisfied and accepted the henchman's killer as his new acolyte.

Personality and traits

Count Dooku and his henchman observed the arena battles from a private box.

The henchman communicated in a deep voice, using a language other than Basic that Count Dooku understood. Also, while hosting Dooku at the Cauldron arena, the henchman maintained a constant grin on his blue-gray face, which was also marked by large, green eyes.

Equipment

The henchman wore a beige robe, secured over his left shoulder with three triangular khaki pins. A tall headdress sat atop the tight hood attached to the humanoid's simple robe.

Behind the scenes

The henchman is seen in "Chapter 6" of the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars. This episode initially aired on Cartoon Network on November 14, 2003, with Daran Norris providing the character's voice. The arena host was later identified as "Henchman" in the Star Wars: Clone Wars cast-and-crew list published on StarWars.com on March 22, 2004.
