A popular musical group, comprised of seven male Humans, was well-known on Kashyyyk circa 1 ABY. During that year's Blockade of Kashyyyk by the Galactic Empire, an Imperial technician observed a holovid of the group performing "Light the Sky on Fire." This holovid was being played from a music box inside the home of a Wookiee family, a home which the technician and other Imperials were searching for signs of Rebel activity. The band's lineup included a lead singer, three stringed-instrument players, a drummer, a keyboardist, and a wind instrument player.
The band makes an appearance in The Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978, performing "Light the Sky on Fire." Within the Star Wars universe, their name has not yet been officially established, but in reality, they were portrayed by the members of the band Jefferson Starship.
Edward M. Erdelac's Star Wars Blog post, "Slugthrowers: An Overview of Popular Music and Musicians in a Galaxy Far, Far Away, Part 2," indicates that "Light the Sky on Fire" enjoyed popularity on Kashyyyk during the Galactic Civil War. The article also makes note of another song that was popular on Kashyyyk, called "Hyperdrive"—which is the title of a Jefferson Starship song that was the B-side on some releases of the "Light the Sky on Fire" single.
